you can simply rent surfboards and wetsuits from us. We offer surf school a wide selection of sizes and different types of boards.
So you'll be perfectly equipped for your next wave adventure!

I had an amazing experience at this surf camp! It was my first time on the water, and even though it was definitely a challenge, it was incredibly fun.
The surf instructors were super helpful, patient, and encouraging. They made us feel safe in the water and helped us improve every day. The atmosphere at the camp was also great—everyone was friendly, and it was very easy to meet new people and feel like part of the group.
I loved the entire experience, from the surf lessons to the relaxed camp atmosphere. I’m heading home with lots of great memories, sore muscles, and—most importantly—a huge desire to surf!
I can absolutely recommend this place and would love to come back! 🏄♀️

Great surf lessons. I made good progress, and Carlos really took the time to work with us. By the end of the week, I was already standing on the board a few times and catching some waves. I’m still just starting out, but it definitely made me want to do more! 🏄♂️🌊 All the surf instructors were very knowledgeable and friendly, and the staff at the lodge were also very nice! 😊👌

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful week at the surf camp and felt completely at home here. The team is incredibly kind and warm, the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, and the vibe among the guests was also great.
Carlos and Fabio are truly great surf coaches. I was in Carlos’s group and really appreciated how he taught surfing. His clear and confident manner and his easy-to-understand instructions made me feel safe even on days with rougher waves. Carlos not only taught us the technique of surfing but also instilled in us a respectful attitude toward the waves and the ocean and shared important background knowledge.
I especially loved that Carlos didn’t just explain the technique—he focused on helping us develop a feel for the board, the ocean, and the waves. Over the course of the week, I actually developed that feel more and more and was able to ride a few waves on my own—a truly wonderful sense of accomplishment! Midweek, there was also a video analysis session where Fabio gave us very valuable and specific tips. It was a great complement to the hands-on training and helped me better understand my own surfing.

I stayed at the Surf Villa. The house is cozy and the bathroom and kitchen were always clean. Here, you’re really right in the thick of things and quickly get to know everyone. For those who—like me—enjoy a little more peace and quiet now and then, I’d recommend the neighboring guesthouse instead. It’s much more laid-back there.
All in all, a truly wonderful experience, and I’d come back anytime! 🙂

We had an incredible week at Mission to Surf! The surf instructors are great, and you learn a ton. The trips to the beaches are short and are chosen based on the wave conditions.
What we found particularly valuable were the debriefings after each session, the video analysis, the insights into the wave forecast, and the photos documenting our progress.

Great place to stay, beautiful pool—perfect for relaxing after surfing. There’s a very picturesque viewpoint overlooking the cliffs nearby. I had Carlos as my surf instructor and learned a tremendous amount, just like I did in the two previous surf lessons we took together. I highly recommend it.

I spent two weeks at the surf camp, and it exceeded my expectations. I came here to learn how to surf and spend time with nice people. I spent the entire two weeks with Coach Carlos, and he did a fantastic job. Personally, as a coach, I really liked his approach to teaching us how to surf. He was very direct and honest. The other campers were also very nice, and we really bonded as a group. I can recommend this camp to anyone who’s interested in surfing and wants to have a great time.

I had a fantastic week at the MissionToSurf surf camp. The atmosphere was super friendly and relaxed. You make new friends there in no time, no matter how old you are. The kitchen is superbly equipped, and the terrace with the pool area is the perfect place to relax after an intense surfing session. The camp management goes out of its way to make sure everything runs smoothly and the facility stays clean. A big thank you goes out to Carlos. He was the surf instructor for our advanced group. I’ve had quite a few surf instructors, but Carlos was the first one who really understood how to spot mistakes and technical issues and correct them precisely! I would definitely go back.

A cool, laid-back camp. The two housekeepers, Maria and Celina, are two warm, sunny personalities. Fabio and Carlos are two really great surf instructors. The two dogs and the cat that drop by from time to time are super cute. The group is really diverse in terms of age, skill level, and nationality. The video analysis is very helpful. Massages, yoga, and BBQ nights round out the experience.

I had a really great time at the camp! I spent a week at Missiontosurf in mid-May during the preseason as a complete beginner, and after just one week I was able to surf whitewater waves well and even try some green waves. A huge thank you to the two very cool and dedicated surf instructors, Fabio and Carlos!

Otherwise, it’s a great time to unwind and get plenty of rest after the strenuous surf sessions. They also offered surfskating, yoga, massages, and other activities. Sonja, the camp director, was super nice and dedicated. The cocktails and her coffee liqueur are delicious. We even got to learn how to DJ at the bar. There was yoga once a week, and there are two cute dogs here, Alma and Caramello. Great atmosphere with cool people. The mood is always great, and there’s never a dull moment.

I was here at the surf camp for a week and had a mega great time. We surfed for 3 hours a day, had great surf instructors with us and ended the day in the surf villa. There's nothing I could find fault with. It was great and I can only recommend it to improve your surfing skills!

It was just such a cool time! Aside from the surfing, the camp was just awesome! Cool people—it was like a family! Super friendly team, chill villa, awesome parties!

We had only booked the surf course without the camp. Unfortunately, we were a bit unlucky with the weather, but an excursion was offered as an alternative.
About the surf course itself: the instructors were very nice and competent. Communication with the surf school was very good, even though we didn't stay overnight. The equipment made a good impression.
About the surf course itself: the instructors were very nice and competent. Communication with the surf school was very good, even though we didn't stay overnight. The equipment made a good impression.

I completed my surf course at the Mission to Surf Portugal Camp in the 2024 pre-season (April). I can confirm some of the - good - impressions described here in other reviews. The surf instructors are great, super friendly and helpful. We were a smaller group, so the team was probably able to pay more attention to us. The beaches were chosen according to wind and wave conditions. As we also had theory lessons, I was able to better assess the conditions myself over the course of the week and understand the surf instructors' behavior on the beaches. The camp itself is self-catering. Breakfast is organized and prepared by the camp team. For the rest of the afternoon and evening, you can cook your own meals or eat out. The team on site will be happy to provide tips and information. Just ask for them. Some would say that it is sometimes a bit "chaotic" on site. From another perspective, however, it is perhaps just a more relaxed, southern mentality, which is not always familiar in everyday life in Austria 😉 . I had organized a rental car as the accommodation is a bit far away from restaurants and stores. Even if a transfer from the surf camp is well organized for the arrival and departure, it is probably more flexible with your own car during the week. And yes, the surfing was very challenging, even for me as an absolute beginner. 🙂 All in all, I would do it again - or rather, I can recommend booking there to any interested surfing beginner. The area around Arrifana is well worth exploring. Thanks again to the whole team, the surf instructors and all the nice people I met on the course during the week!

A really nice, cozy surf camp, super friendly staff, a great pool, professional surf lessons, breathtaking scenery… This is my third time here, and I’ll definitely be back 😎🏄♂️
