My first surf camp—10/10! Really nice camp staff, great coaches, a very cool atmosphere, and a cool community. Plus, there were cool extra activities besides surfing (tennis, yoga…). Very educational, with video analysis and professional photos at the end. Highly recommended!

A cool, laid-back camp. The two housekeepers, Maria and Celina, are two warm, sunny personalities. Fabio and Carlos are two really great surf instructors. The two dogs and the cat that drop by from time to time are super cute. The group is really diverse in terms of age, skill level, and nationality. The video analysis is very helpful. Massages, yoga, and BBQ nights round out the experience.

The camp staff was super friendly, the vibe was great, and the surf instructors were excellent. I had a wonderful time here in mid-June—the waves were pleasant, and I gained some great surfing experience. The surf instructors are considerate and really take the time to work with the students. All in all, it was a great experience; I just wish there had been a little more theory, but other than that, it was top-notch. The video analysis of my surfing was especially fun 😉

We first booked a private lesson for our group of 8 people at the surf school, and then two more lessons for my girlfriend and me. Since we were assigned our own surf instructor, the focus was entirely on our group—which made the course particularly effective and personalized.
The organization was excellent from start to finish. We received all the important information the night before, so we were well prepared and everything went smoothly.

I had an incredibly wonderful week at the surf camp and was warmly welcomed by Celina and Maria, who bring so much life and love to the camp. The surf lessons were well-taught and easy to follow, and as a beginner, I felt very well taken care of. The

A really nice camp. The staff members Maria and Celina were especially great. They made sure everyone felt incredibly comfortable and had someone to turn to. You could tell they were really dedicated to the camp. My surf instructor, Fabio, was very patient and taught me everything really well. 🤙🏻

I had a really great time at the camp! I spent a week at Missiontosurf in mid-May during the preseason as a complete beginner, and after just one week I was able to surf whitewater waves well and even try some green waves. A huge thank you to the two very cool and dedicated surf instructors, Fabio and Carlos!
The accommodations were nice and clean, and the area was idyllic and quiet. If you want to explore more, you should arrive by rental car. Otherwise, it’s a great time to unwind and get plenty of rest after the strenuous surf sessions. They also offered surfskating, yoga, massages, and other activities. I can definitely recommend the camp! Especially during the preseason, since there were fewer people there and the instructors could provide more individualized attention.

Our stay at Mission to Surf in Portugal was wonderful! The hostess is incredibly warm and welcoming, and you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The surf lessons were professional and a lot of fun—perfect for both beginners and more experienced surfers. A special shout-out goes to Maria, who organized and managed everything so wonderfully. Sonja, the camp director, was super nice and dedicated. The cocktails and her coffee liqueur are delicious. We even got to learn how to DJ at the bar. There was yoga once a week, and there are two cute dogs here, Alma and Caramello. Great atmosphere with cool people. The mood is always great, and there’s never a dull moment.

Very cool community, very social. Very good surf coaches and sensible advice. Nice accommodation and good beach location. Good surf camp for every surfing level. Furthermore, the surf coaches offer constructive criticism regarding the surfing style. Through the surf camp I got to know a lot of new people, life perspectives and learned better surfing skills.

I was here at the surf camp for a week and had a mega great time. We surfed for 3 hours a day, had great surf instructors with us and ended the day in the surf villa. There's nothing I could find fault with. It was great and I can only recommend it to improve your surfing skills!

It was just such a cool time! Aside from the surfing, the camp was just awesome! Cool people—it was like a family! Super friendly team, chill villa, awesome parties!

My surf instructor (Bruno) was very knowledgeable; you learn a lot from video analysis, and the theory helps a ton too!
I was pleasantly surprised that we hit the waves right away on the first day and got straight into the action. Better trial and error than endless dry training.

The instructors were absolutely top-notch: super friendly, patient, motivating, and packed with expertise. You can tell right away that they live and breathe surfing—and that’s contagious. 🤙🏼 The conditions were also perfect, and the vibe in the group was really good right from the start—open, warm, just relaxed.
Even though we didn’t stay at the surf hostel but were housed off-site, we were still immediately integrated into the group. Everything was super easygoing and totally welcoming—top-notch! 🙌🏼
And the best part: I’m now officially a surfer. 😄🫶🏼 This definitely wasn’t the last time—surfing is now going to be a regular part of my life. Thanks for this unforgettable week—I highly recommend it to anyone who’s into surfing, great people, and having a really awesome time! 💯🔥

We had only booked the surf course without the camp. Unfortunately, we were a bit unlucky with the weather, but an excursion was offered as an alternative.
About the surf course itself: the instructors were very nice and competent. Communication with the surf school was very good, even though we didn't stay overnight. The equipment made a good impression.

I completed my surf course at the Mission to Surf Portugal Camp in the 2024 pre-season (April). I can confirm some of the - good - impressions described here in other reviews. The surf instructors are great, super friendly and helpful. We were a smaller group, so the team was probably able to pay more attention to us. The beaches were chosen according to wind and wave conditions. As we also had theory lessons, I was able to better assess the conditions myself over the course of the week and understand the surf instructors' behavior on the beaches. The camp itself is self-catering. Breakfast is organized and prepared by the camp team. For the rest of the afternoon and evening, you can cook your own meals or eat out. The team on site will be happy to provide tips and information. Just ask for them. Some would say that it is sometimes a bit "chaotic" on site. From another perspective, however, it is perhaps just a more relaxed, southern mentality, which is not always familiar in everyday life in Austria 😉 . I had organized a rental car as the accommodation is a bit far away from restaurants and stores. Even if a transfer from the surf camp is well organized for the arrival and departure, it is probably more flexible with your own car during the week. And yes, the surfing was very challenging, even for me as an absolute beginner. 🙂 All in all, I would do it again - or rather, I can recommend booking there to any interested surfing beginner. The area around Arrifana is well worth exploring. Thanks again to the whole team, the surf instructors and all the nice people I met on the course during the week!
